Quick overview
Extending a local Indian grocery store into online shopping with connected stock information.
The project connects grocery eCommerce with store inventory and local delivery discovery, extending the retailer’s customer journey online.
The business and the brief
Introduction
Sri Ganesh is an Indian grocery retailer in Adelaide offering spices, fresh produce, and specialty products. Bringing that range online required attention to both the shopping experience and the store’s day-to-day inventory. We developed a grocery eCommerce platform with POS integration and local delivery marketing, connecting an established retail offer with a new way for customers to shop.
Grocery eCommerce connects two active environments: customers shopping online and a store managing a changing physical range. The project needed to address both. A usable catalogue is only part of the experience if stock information and local service discovery are left disconnected from everyday retail operations.
What needed to change
The challenge
- Customers had no direct online shopping option for the store’s grocery range.
- A large, changing inventory required a more connected approach to online stock information.
- Local awareness needed to extend beyond customers already familiar with the physical shop.
Our approach · 01
Making the grocery range easier to browse online
The eCommerce platform organises the store’s offer for customers shopping beyond the physical aisles. The focus is on a usable catalogue that supports everyday grocery purchasing across the range.
An online grocery catalogue needs to help shoppers find familiar items and explore the wider range without the context of a physical aisle. The platform organises that browsing experience around the store’s offer, bringing the retailer’s existing assortment into a digital purchase journey.

Our approach · 02
Connecting online retail with store operations
POS integration supports the synchronisation of stock information between the shop and online store. This operational connection is central to maintaining an eCommerce catalogue alongside an active grocery business.
The POS connection addresses the relationship between the online catalogue and the shop’s working inventory. Stock synchronisation is important because an eCommerce channel needs to stay connected with an active store. This makes operational integration a central part of the project rather than a secondary enhancement.

Our approach · 03
Introducing the service to nearby shoppers
Local marketing focuses on the delivery areas served by the business. It connects the online store with households who can use the service, bringing customer acquisition into the same project as catalogue and stock management.
Local delivery marketing connects the new shopping channel with the households it can serve. That regional focus helps introduce the online offer in a practical context, supporting the relationship between customer expectations, the store’s service area, and the new digital platform.
